HAIR CARE

Before installing your hair extensions, it’s essential to wash them thoroughly to remove any residual products, dust, or manufacturing residues. This ensures the extensions are clean and ready for application. When installing your extensions, use the "over and out" method for optimal placement and a secure fit. Although our wefts are custom-made to provide a perfect match and high quality, it's crucial to care for them diligently to maintain their integrity and longevity. To further protect your wefts, consider sealing them with a high-quality weft sealant; this will help prevent shedding and extend the lifespan of the extensions. It’s important to avoid cutting your wefts unless absolutely necessary, as cutting can compromise the structure and lead to fraying. If you must trim, do so with care, using sharp scissors to minimize damage. After the installation, take the time to brush your hair thoroughly, focusing on detangling any loose hairs that may have accumulated during the process. This will help ensure a smooth, natural look and prevent tangles from forming as you style your hair.

MAINTENANCE

We recommend performing a conditioner-only wash at least once a week to maintain the moisture and health of your hair extensions. This method helps to cleanse the hair without stripping it of its natural oils. Every two weeks, use a sulfate-free shampoo to thoroughly cleanse the scalp and hair, ensuring any buildup from products is effectively removed. When washing, avoid massaging the hair, as this can cause tangling and damage; instead, gently work the shampoo from the bottom to the top of the weft. Be sure to rinse the shampoo out thoroughly with lukewarm water to ensure no residue remains. After rinsing, apply a generous amount of moisturizing conditioner, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Use a wide-tooth comb to gently detangle the hair, starting at the ends and gradually working your way up  to minimize breakage. Once you’ve thoroughly combed through the hair, rinse out the conditioner completely with cool water to help seal the cuticles and enhance shine. After washing, allow your extensions to air-dry naturally. Avoid using heat styling tools to prevent damage; instead, you can gently pat the hair dry with a soft towel and lay it flat or hang it to dry. This method will help keep your extensions looking vibrant and healthy. When using heat, use a heat protectant. Alternatively use healthless methods for styling to ensure longevity of your extensions.

DAILY CARE

Use a brush or wide-tooth comb to style your hair. If desired, apply an alcohol-free hair serum to add shine and enhance your look.

BEDTIME CARE

Before going to bed, gather your hair and create one- four  loose, large braids. This will help prevent tangling and minimize friction while you sleep. To further protect your hair, cover it with your True satin scarf or wear your True satin bonnet, which will help retain moisture and reduce breakage. For those looking to achieve bouncy waves, you can style your hair using flexi-rods before bed. Simply wrap sections of hair around the rods and secure them in place; this will create beautiful, defined waves by morning. Upon waking, carefully remove any coverings and use a wide-tooth comb to detangle your hair. Start by gently combing through the ends to remove any knots, and gradually work your way up to the roots. This technique minimizes damage and breakage. Once your hair is fully combed through, style as desired, whether that means adding product for definition or simply letting the waves flow naturally.
